Exciting Changes for 2025
Exciting changes beginning January 2025!
After lots of prayers and much consideration, we have made the decision to transform our little Coffee House / Cafe into a full-time Tea Room starting January 2025.
We’ve had such a positive response to our Tea Parties and would like to focus more on that. We will continue to offer our specialty coffees, Hershey Ice Cream and take-home casseroles, but our menu items (take out and dine in) will no longer be available.
We are also expanding the days that we’re open to Wednesday thru Saturday from 9:00-4:00 while offering Tea Party Reservations from 11:00 – 3:00.
Thank you for your continued support over the years. We love our little store and feel this will be much more manageable with us still living in North Carolina.
Change is Coming
New hours beginning may 1, 2024
Many of you are not aware but we still live in North Carolina. We travel down every Wednesday, work Thursday thru Sunday and then drive home on Sunday night, sleeping in our camper while we are here. And on top of this, Mr. Randy has a full-time job.
We made the decision in 2021 to rent out the store so we could move to NC and be closer to family. We never imagined being back again. But when the tenants decided not to renew the lease at the end of last year, we could not afford to leave it sitting empty nor were we interested in renting it out again. Still, we love this little Store and our hope was to keep it going as we feel it is an asset to the community.
When we reopened in January, we were hoping to find that “right” person to manage the store for at least part of the time, but that has not happened yet. So we need to make some changes in order to have a day of rest.
Starting in May, we will no longer be open on Sundays and will close at 5:00 on Saturdays in order to drive home at a reasonable hour. Thursday and Friday the store will remain open until 8:30 for those who still want ice cream, coffee and casseroles. And we will begin opening at 9:00 am instead of 10 Thursday – Saturday.
Plus, we’re working diligently to bring Tea Parties back (more information on that soon).
We want to thank everyone for their continued support over the years, especially with all of the changes. We realize that being open only 3 days a week is not ideal, and that customers get frustrated to drive up only to find that we’re closed, but we need some rest. We love still being a part of this community but to continue to do so we need your help in reaching more people to keep the support going.
